The world is looking at the indomitable spirit that still believes after all these years that it will not be broken.
Though there are cries, from failing tries, and there is an abyss across the lies, it refuses to become a token.
By allowing conform, to the norm, of what the world says it will tolerate.
It’s no sham, it doesn’t give a damn, about what the norm has to hate.
It’s not worse, to suffer the hurt, of being true to self.
Than to pretend, that you are men, even when there is so little left.
Convinced it pays, to live out your days, free from the condemnation, of the others you have become.
There’s still proof, that will bear the truth, that when it comes to courage, you have none.
Safer to turn up your nose, when looking at those, that defy you by showing they still have some.
They are still free, to let thier thoughts be, and finish as they begun.
Not responding to the fear, that as fate draws near, there may be some hardship in the end.
Free spirits will live thier lives, through toil and strife, without having to give in.
Unlike those who are rich, and continue to bitch, because all they have done is pretend.
They think it irresponsible, and virtually impossible, to not be tied down and roam.
Still a free spirit has found, that it must stand it’s ground.
In this world they stay, where they lay, and it is thier home.
But there is no keep, as he sleeps, and he will not lay his weapons down.
But he has yet to find, the peace of mind, that comes with being free to move.
Sometimes he may cramp, because the weather is damp, but that’s a small price to pay.
Because he’s not wrapped, caught and trapped, like those that need to get the hell out the way.
There’s a road beside him, that won’t deny him, the call he’s come to crave.
With pride in hand, he knows he’s a man, and will never be a slave.
Like those who fit, in the places they sit, asking what is he trying to prove.
By not pushing a point, or shaking the joint, thier flavor sure is smoothe.
A free spirit won’t hear what they say, as they pound away, and try to belittle him.
Trying to convince him to see, what he could be, if he became one of them.
So from dawn to dawn he is free to go where ever his lust for life may roam.
So it’s not unfair, he doesn’t share, a permanance written in stone.
He is sure, he is secure, no matter the arrows and slings.
There is thrill, in avoiding the spill, of the pendulum’s swings.
It is a certainty, that for all time will eventually stop.
But until then, he plays to win, with everything he has got.
Though monetary fortunes are low, still he has got a lot.
For to really measure, what he calls treasure, You must weigh the freedom of his soul.
No matter the degree, he is still free, and that’s worth more than gold.

Health Care and Unions
Posted in Socail commentary on November 7, 2009 by 1marktThere is much debate right now between the Democrats and Republicans over the Health Care reform bills that are before the congress. On one side there is the Democratic proponents whom are advocating a reform bill with a public option. On the other hand there is the Republican opposition which continues to point out that the public option will drive Doctors out of business while providing less benefit and raising the cost.
Let’s address how the Republican argument fails. First of all the health care reform will allow an opportunity for 47 million currently uninsured people to have an opportunity to go to a doctor. Now any practicing physician should realize that this is a great windfall for them, for heaven’s sake there are 47 million more people that can now come and see them and they will be paid for it. If you take 47 million and multiply that by $60 which is the minimum amount charged by most Doctors for an office visit, that is 2.82 billion dollars right off the bat. Now take another 500 dollars in lab test and diagnosis that’s another 20 billion dollars. Any doctor that can not see this is too damn inadequate to add and can not be trusted with your health care. The drug companies and American Medical Associatopn have spent in excess of $850 million dollars lobbying against health care in just three months, Why is this? The windfall to pharmaceutical companies will be tremendous because there are potentailly 47 million more people that they can get a minimum of 100 dollars a month more from which is 4.7 billion dollars a month. It seems they are either too stupid to add themselves, and are more interested in doing as much as possible to insure that needless deaths occur because of denied health care to the detriment of our society’s most vulnerable, the young, the old, and the infirmed. Thier real thought process could be viewed as getting rid of the least productive and eliminating thier liabilities. It is time to look at things as they really are and though the Democratic party can not solve all of America’s ills, they are on this issue much more in line with the needs of all Americans than the Republicans.
Next there is the rant from the right of the defeating impact of unions and how they continue to drive business out of business. This is to be expected from the Republican party which are the lap dogs of big business. They however are not looking at the fact that the reason there is a middle class in America at all is because of the impact of labor unions, that said women and men should have a decent wage and health care. Now, though they raise much hell about the over taxation of unions upon the business world, they don’t raise any opposition to the bankers and wall street that keeps paying these outrageous bonuses to the assholes that ran America into the ground under the guise that if we don’t pay these thieves this type of money they will not work for us and therefore the markets of capitalism will be destroyed. What bullshit. If there was one man or woman involved in a union that got anywhere from 10 to 150 million dollars for 30 years of work please show them to me. Yet these totally incompetent jerks get this type of money for one year of work. How long will this bullshit go on before the truth is alighted.
Lastly, the Republican party keeps making statements that claim this health care reform bill is an attempt by government to take over the health care industry. This is more fear mongering. They say that they do not want to be a country like Canada where you have no right to choose treatment or when you can have a surgery that will extend your life. They should quit distorting the facts and present the facts. Canada is listed as number 3 in the world in terms of the health care that it provides for thier populace as a whole, while America though it spends exceedingly more on health care cost is rated as number 26. Clearly health care under the current dictates and power, mainly the insurance companies, has done an exceedingly poor job in looking after us the American people and it is time that something is done about it. Canada with it’s high rating for health care for it’s citizens should not be held in contempt, but held as an example, because not only has it met and raised the bar in health care it produces it at one third the cost that America does while providing health care that is 4 to 5 times better than that provided to the average American. This Republican party is the same party that oppossed the Social Security systems durring the Roosevelt administrations and it has largely been the greatest success in American government and it is the one agency that is continually raided by the Republican party to pay for it’s war machines, yes it is care run by the federal government, responsible for keeping those over the age of 65 out of poverty. It is time to put big business in check and let them know that we as Americans don’t give a damn about thier profits at our expense.
Sincerely; 1markt
